Eclectic Home Update
This home was a study of contrasts when we first arrived. The homeowner's eclectic taste lacked focus and the builder-grade house fought against the personalization. We upgraded the kitchen, fireplace, and master bathroom and then worked to turn the mishmash of decorations into a cohesive style.
Not every kitchen needs to be completely gutted. Some just need a good coat of paint. Instead of changing everything in this kitchen, we painted the cabinets, replaced the countertops, and added new backsplash. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and handles add depth to the space without making it any darker.
Many people have special pieces floating around their home and this client was no exception. The beautiful stained glass art on the wall had been sitting around their house but needed a little help. We had a custom frame created to show it off and then made it the focal point for the room.
The biggest change in the room was the fireplace. We refaced it with a rustic, exterior-style stone and a new mantle was created for the room as well. Taking a solid piece of wood, staining it and distressing it slightly made for a unique piece.
Staircases are underrated and often unloved portions of your home. Since we were putting down new hardwood anyway, we extended it up the stairs and painted the rest white. It gives the space a clean, fresh look.
